Perth Scorchers are at the bottom of the points table with two losses. They lost their last match to Sydney Sixers by 17 runs. Bowling first, They restricted Sixers on 164 with J Behrendorff taking two scalps. Ashton Turner and Hilton Cartwright were impressive with the bat scoring 49 and 53 respectively but were left behind by 17 runs. They will hope to get their first win of the season by defeating Adelaide Strikers.

Adelaide Strikers have won one and lost one encounter yet in the season. They lost their last match to Melbourne Renegades by 5 wickets. Batting first, Matthew Short played an attacking knock of 65 runs in 41 balls and was supported by J Wells and J Weatherald to lead the team to a total of 174.
