Hobart Hurricanes lost their first match against Perth Scorchers by 6 wickets. Batting first, Erin Fazackerley gave a brilliant start to the team with her 16-ball 38 run knocks. Georgia Redmayne also scored 49 runs to lead the team to a total of 143 runs. Skipper Sasha Moloney was impressive with the ball taking two scalps but could not defend the target. They will hope to work upon their weakness from the match and come to all guns blazing in tomorrow’s encounter. Availability of Smriti Mandhana, Heather Knight and Hayley Matthews is a big boost to the side.

Melbourne Stars got an amazing start to their campaign defeating Sydney Sixers by 7 wickets.
