Match Overview

Windies defeating England in the Test series was a shocker but if they can replicate it in the ODI series, it will be a mega-shocker. Let’s put it this way – England is the overwhelming favorite to win the World Cup and Windies qualified for the World Cup thanks to a bad umpiring decision. Yet after the performance in the Tests, Windies has a reason to be confident.

England will be testing the options before it announces its World Cup squad. Pace bowlers will be rotated to check the bench strength while the batting looks set. They are currently the number one team in the world and will want to seal the series 5-0. Joe Root has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

Windies look determined in Test cricket and natural in T20I cricket but they are struggling in the ODIs. Against India, they were competitive in the first three ODIs. Next two matches were surrendered. The return of Chris Gayle will boost their confidence. Still, Windies will have to be at their best to defeat this English team.
