Bangladesh vs Windies
Windies tour of Bangladesh, 2018
Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
Dec 22, 05:00 PM LOCAL
The long stay of the Caribbean side in the Asian territory comes to an end with the final T20I match. Bangladesh was the clear winners in the Test series and came up trumps in the ODI series with a 2-1 scoreline. Windies deflated the home side in the first T20I but they came back strongly in the last match. This is now the enthralling finale of the long tour.
Bangladesh was inserted to bat first by the Windies and Liton Das fired the home side to a lightning start. He and Soumya Sarkar took Bangladesh to 110 in 11 overs when Cottrell showed the signs of pulling the hosts back. Shakib Al Hasan 42(26) and Mahmudullah 43(21) ensured the final score of 211/4. For Windies, only the all-round spinner Fabian Allen escaped punishment.
Windies lost Evin Lewis early once again. Nicholas Pooran and Shai Hope, who has been in a red-hot form, started blazing early but both returned to the pavilion inside the powerplay overs. Rovman Powell and Keemo Paul added a few runs but they fell short by 36 runs. Shakib Al Hasan was the star with five wickets from 20 runs.
